Possible playing time in 2013: Golson is an elite prospect who will be a three or four year starter for Ole Miss. The problem is that Pierce Burton is firmly entrenched at a tackle spot and the only one who could unseat Emmanuel McCray appears to be Laremy Tunsil. A redshirt will probably be issued unless he is needed due to injuries. This is not an indictment of Golson’s talent, it is just the nature of being a freshman lineman in the SEC.
Wrap-up: His quickness is what stands out the most about his game. When the ball is snapped he jumps up and has his hands in place right away. He can seal block better than he can get push off the ball. His feet also move really well and he could develop at either tackle spot. Once he adds bulk in Paul Jackson’s program, he could be a game changer for Ole Miss.
