SEC Power Rankings Week 2

1. LSU (22-2, 5-1)

LSU recorded a series sweep over bottom-feeder Auburn, but falters by the rest of the SEC elite brought them to the top.

LW: 3

This week: 3/26 @ Tulane, 3/29-31 @ Missouri

2. Vanderbilt (21-4, 5-1)

A 2-2 week will be rare this season for the Commodores, but the loss to MTSU evens out the series win over Florida.

LW: 1

This week: 3/26 Lipscomb, 3/29-31 Tennessee

3. Texas A&M (16-8, 5-1)

Seven-inning games are fluky and the Aggies took advantage of a double-header seven-inning on Sunday by sweeping it in Oxford.

LW: 7

This week: 3/26 UT-Arlington, 3/28-30 @ South Carolina

4. Arkansas (17-7, 4-2)

The Razorbacks doubled the Gamecocks’ losses in just one weekend. In Columbia.

LW: 8

This week: 3/26-27 MVSU, 3/29-31 Mississippi State

5. Kentucky (18-5, 4-2)

2-2 last week, but this one should be much kinder to the Cats with Marshall and Georgia coming to town.

LW: 5

This week: 3/27 Marshall, 3/29-31 Georgia

6. South Carolina (18-6, 2-4)

USC has lost 4 of 5 and have a road date to C of C and a home series against A&M this weekend.

LW: 2

This week: 3/26 @ College of Charleston, 3/28-30 Texas A&M

7. Alabama (16-9, 5-1)

The front of the SEC schedule has been kind to Alabama with Tennessee and Georgia to open. They travel to 0-6 Auburn this weekend to boot.

LW: 9

This week: 3/26 @ UAB, 3-28-30 @ Auburn

8. Ole Miss (21-4, 3-3)

Mother nature bit the Rebels hard this weekend, but blowing a 5-0 lead and stranding a boatload of runners in both Sunday games didn’t help.

LW: 4

This week: 3/27 Arkansas State, 3/29-31 @ Florida

9. Mississippi State (21-6, 2-4)

Three straight series losses for MSU and a trip to Fayetteville this weekend could easily make it four.

LW: 6

This week: 3/26 Austin Peay, 3/29-31 @ Arkansas

10. Florida (11-14, 2-4)

Florida continues their stretch of seven straight games against top 10 teams with a midweek against FSU and a home series against Ole Miss.

LW: 10

This week: 3/26 *Florida State, 3/29-31 Ole Miss

11. Tennessee (13-10, 3-3)

The 3-3 record has come against Alabama and Mizzou. We’ll find out a lot more about the Vols in their next three series: at Vandy, USC and at Kentucky.

LW: 11

This week: 3/26 Tennessee Tech, 3/29-31 @ Vanderbilt

12. Missouri (8-12, 2-4)

A rough welcome to the SEC for Missouri with USC and LSU among their first three series draws.

LW: 12

This week: 3/26 Nebraska-Omaha, 3/29-31 LSU

13. Auburn (15-9, 0-6)

The weak non-conference slate has opened up the truth about Auburn now that they’ve reached conference play.

LW: 13

This week: 3/26 @ Troy, 3/28-30 Alabama

14. Georgia (8-16, 0-6)

Eight straight losses for the Dawgs, David Perno’s days appear to be numbered.

LW: 14

This week: 3/26 Clemson, 3/27 @ Clemson, 3/29-31 @ Kentucky
