Pierce Burton

Offensive Tackle

Senior

6’6 290 Lbs.

Sacramento, Calif.

2012 Season: Originally a member of the San Jose State Spartans, like his head coach, Burton transferred to Ole Miss from the College of San Francisco which if your memory serves you right is the same school that Jeremiah Masoli attended.

This is the tale of many of the players last season in the new system, but Burton really improved as the year went on. A starter in all 13 games, he became a real asset on the right side and was named to the ESPN SEC All-Bowl Team.

Value: A senior right tackle is a huge asset for any team. Having one as talented as Burton is icing on the cake. Austin Golson, Patrick Junen and Laremy Tunsil in the backup roles are beneficial for the Rebels but keeping the first-stringer healthy is vital. He is a big body who gets good leverage in the pass. As one of three experienced seniors on the offensive line, Burton will be expected to play a critical part of getting the Rebels to a major bowl game.
