2012 Season: After missing the season opener Scott caught fire, running for 846 yards on 197 carries for 6 touchdowns. It was a new offense for a guy who was used only as a change-of-pace back behind Brandon Bolden for two years. He had to get used to strictly shotgun sets and running the read option. That said, his statistics are more impressive than they appear.

Value: Scott is a veteran running back who plays smart football (see: Auburn, 2012). When he gets openings he is incredibly dangerous. The Rebels are very deep at running back but have no experience at the position after Scott. If he can carry the ball 200-plus times then he will become a steady source of production.

The wide receivers get a lot of the attention due to the highly-touted star power of guys like Donte Moncrief, Vince Sanders and Laquon Treadwell. Those guys cannot tick without a run game to keep the defense honest. Scott’s success in 2013 is highly indicative of Ole Miss’s success in 2013.
