OHT Editoral Morning Constitution – 6/9/14

We are going to try something new at Ole Hotty Toddy. Every Monday morning, we will post an editor’s note article. It will be something intriguing for you to read as you start your day, or maybe not.

I would like to point out two idiots today that have yet to comment back on their misfortune mistakes. These two gentlemen deserve their own spots in our “Hall of Shame”.

We will start with Chris Hebert. I know you don’t know Chris Hebert, but that is okay, I will introduce you to him. Hebert is a die-hard Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajun fan. I know, that just sounds exciting from the start.

Well, Chris was introduced to Adobe Photo Shop and thought the other 34 Ragin’ Cajun fans would get a chuckle of Auston Bousfield’s error in Saturday’s game that resulted in a Cajun score on the play.

Little did Hebert know that KARMA IS A BITCH and a very similar error play would occur the next day by Ragin’ Cajuns’ center fielder Seth Harrison to give the Rebels the lead. The dropped fly ball in center field by Harrison brought home who? You guessed it, Auston Bousfield scored on the play. THAT MY FRIEND IS KARMA.

Chris Hebert was immediately sought out by Rebel fans on Twitter. The Lafayette native is yet to comment on how Karma bit him the ass. That is okay Chris, we’d prefer that Bousfield photo shopped picture to be your last tweet ever, as a reminder of your stupidity .

Second, I would like to point out Mike Bianchi. I know, some of you might not know Mike Bianchi, but if you have ever read the Orlando Sentinel by mistake, you might realize he is a sports columnist there. I am not sure how much Mike really knows about sports, but he does claim to be a columnist.

In Bianchi’s latest article, he wrote that the Southeastern Conference should drop Mississippi Schools (Ole Miss and Mississippi State) and add “powerhouse” teams of UCF and USF. It all started when UCF Head Football Coach George O’ Leary made the comment, “they sound like the South during the Civil War,” in a rebuttal to Mike Slive threatening to leave the SEC if a vote for autonomy for the “Big-5” conferences weren’t passed during NCAA meetings. Mike Bianchi wanted his 15 minutes of fame on topic in his article.

"My thoughts: If the Power 5 leagues truly want to break off into their own division then they first need to jettison the dead weight and add more deserving schools like UCF before setting sail for the brave new world of college football.Example: The SEC should dump Ole Miss and Mississippi State and invite in UCF and USF to take their place. It’s crazy that the Mississippi schools get to be part of the most powerful league in college football in a day and age when the sport is all about cable television subscribers, recruiting base and growth potential."

First off Mr. Bianchi, I didn’t know if you knew this, but UCF and USF currently hold a combine 3-9 record against Southern Miss. Southern Miss! But, hey – you’re a sports columnist, you already knew that.

Second Mr. Bianchi, your trying to refer UCF as a powerhouse over Ole Miss, but they can’t even fill their own stadium seats (as you consistently point out on Twitter) that are 20,000 seats shy of Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

UCF’s football program was formed in 1979. Since then, they have made only six bowl game appearances. What is even more sad, they have only won half of those bowl games. Ole Miss has has a 23-12 record in the postseason.

You have one good season with UCF and now you measure yourself with the SEC? Wow, layoff the crack pipe Bianchi. Please, don’t base your idiotic perception on one good year and through a quarterback you don’t even have anymore.
