The 2014 Ole Miss football season is just around the corner. Now that we have hit the 45 day mark until kickoff, we are going to countdown the most valuable Rebel players this season. Their rankings are based on their positions and how much of an impact they will bring to the table. Today on the countdown is…

2013 Season: Carlos Thompson was a very effective defensive end in the 2013 season. He played a major role in early wins like against Vanderbilt (where he earned his third letter). Thompson was apart of the defensive that kept the game intact through the first half against Alabama. In that game, he recorded a career-high four tackles and a half of a sack.

The Value: In 2013, Thompson battled injuries with his neck and shoulders from midway through the season until the end. With Thompson being healthy, he could play a major role for the Rebel defensive line in 2014. He is probably going to be the one behind CJ Johnson, but will come very valuable in depth.
