Right after Ole Miss Head Coach Hugh Freeze concluded his speech at the 2014 SEC Media Days, Ole Hotty Toddy staff writer, Rashell Reese gave our report of Freeze at the SEC Media Days in Hoover, Alabama. We wanted to once again share with our readers the Ole Miss Rebels at the 2014 SEC Media Days, but we wanted to include what the players had to say.

Cody Prewitt, Senior, Free Safety

Cody Prewitt on being “All In”…

"“For me it’s just total commitment. Our coaching staff expects us to do everything right on and off the field. They relate off the field directly to things on the field, like academics and doing the little things right off the field that’s going to translate to doing the little things right on the field. When we are doing little things right on the field that’s going to allow us to play at a really high speed and execute the way we are supposed to execute. When you hear ‘all in,’ to me it makes me think about just full commitment and to really be all and buy into what Coach Freeze and the rest of the coaching staff wants us to do. With that comes a lot of success.”"

Cody Prewitt on being selected All-SEC first team…

"“It’s really humbling, been working 21 years bettering myself at football. Football is the only thing I truly love. To have other people thinking so highly of me, as to commemorate me,it’s really humbling and really nice for people to admire you for just playing a game I love. At that the same time I don’t want to disappoint anybody, I want to perform the way people want me to perform and that’s going to take getting better every day in the classroom and the field.”"

Cody Prewitt on the Egg Bowl…

"“The Egg Bowl is one of the great rivalries in the league or in college football period. To win that is like putting a flag pole down in Mississippi for 365 days following that game. Last year was a tough game for both teams. They played their hearts out. they (Mississippi State) made a play here and there and we didn’t and that’s all it really is. It’s execution and we look forward to this game all year, no matter whatever happens the rest of the season. It’s the kind of game we will be thinking about during the offseason and that’s the game that we carry into the season knowing we want to get there and really perform at a high level.”"

C.J. Johnson, Junior, Defensive End

C.J. Johnson on playing two very close games against Texas A&M…

"“It is not really motivation, but we have to play them to get the SEC Championship, and that is more important to us than games in the past.”"

C.J. Johnson on playing Texas A&M this year compared to last year…

"“I think everybody in here knows how it will be different, they don’t have Johnny (Manziel). We will not have to chase him around, so it will definitely be a lot easier.”"

C.J. Johnson on having more depth this year…

"“Now, we have quality guys that we can throw in to keep that level of consistency when we need it.”"

C.J. Johnson on defending the Ole Miss offense…

"“Speed really has a lot to do with it but they have so many different things that they can throw at you with so many different guys, it just makes it a lot harder to defend.”"

Bo Wallace, Senior, Quarterback

Bo Wallace on offseason improvements…

"“I went to go see Tom House in LA (Los Angeles). He’s a mechanics guru that has worked with a lot of guys that have had shoulder injuries. I went out there just to get some velocity back and things like that. I feel like it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made.”"

Bo Wallace on being a dark horse of the west…

"“We don’t feel any pressure at all. We are confident that we can get late into games with those teams. That is our goal to get late into the fourth quarter and see what happens. Like I said, we are a dark horse and we know that. We are working everyday to try and win an SEC Championship.”"

Bo Wallace on which opponent field he wants to play on one last time…

"“No doubt it’s LSU. My sophomore year we got beat late in the game, but it was one of the most fun times I’ve had playing football. It’s a fun atmosphere to play in, especially being a rivalry game. I’m very excited to play at LSU.”"
