2013 Football Freshman Headshots
Class Sophomore
Height/Weight: 6-2/182
Bio: Derrick Jones came to Ole Miss in 2013 as apart of the historic 2013 recruiting class. He was rated a 3-star prospect coming into . He was listed the 61st-best wide receiver in the country by Rivals.com and No. 89 by Scout.com. He was also listed as the ninth-best recruit in Mississippi by Scout.com and ESPN.com.

2013 Season: Derrick Jones made his collegiate debut in the game against Alabama in the 2013 season at cornerback. In that game, Jones recorded four tackles (one solo tackle). He would receive his first start in the game against Texas A&M, where he would post two stops. Jones finished his freshman year playing in nine games, recording 27 total tackles, and one tackle for a loss.

The Value: We witnessed great potential of Derrick Jones last season. It is only natural to expect Jones will continue great strides in the upcoming season. Jones is already listed a starter at boundary cornerback in the preseason depth charts. He will play a huge role to the Rebels’ depth in the secondary. I expect Jones to perform at a higher caliber in the 2014 season with more playing time. What makes Jones so valuable is that he has an amazing talent of keeping pressure on receivers.
