Ole Miss Rebels Senior Spotlight: Cliff Coleman

This Saturday, is senior day at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. It will be the final home game for many players who have turned this season into a remarkable experience. Cliff Coleman, Defensive Back
Class: Senior
Height: 5 ft., 10 in.
Weight: 186 lbs.
From: Lauderdale Lakes, Fla.

Background: Cliff Coleman was recruited in the 2010 signing class. He was redshirted his freshman season at Ole Miss. In high school, Coleman was named to the Prep-Star preseason All-Region team.

Coleman was rated the no. 39 in Florida by the Miami Herald and 43rd by the Orlando Sentinel. He was listed as the 90th overall cornerback in the nation and 96th overall player in Florida coming out of high school by Scout.com. He earned third team All-Broward honors from the Miami Herald as a senior in high school.

Career at Ole Miss: Cliff Coleman made his collegiate debut at Ole Miss on Sept. 3, 2011 in a home game against BYU. He received his first career start against Mississippi State in the 2011 Egg Bowl, where he recorded two tackles and a pass breakup.

In the 2012 season, Coleman played in 10 games with one start. He recorded 13 total tackles (career season high) and five passes defended on the year. He would move from cornerback to huskie position during spring practices of 2013. During the 2013 season, he recorded eight total tackles with one result in a loss of yards.

Coleman was awarded the Jeff Hamm Memorial Award as the spring of 2014 most improved player. During this season, he has recorded six total tackles, one of which resulting in a loss of yards. Against Vanderbilt, Coleman recorded his first career interception that resulted in a 39-yard pick six.
