Each afternoon, you can hear Oxford, MS native Richard Cross on your radio across the state of Mississippi co-hosting Head to Head Radio with Matt Wyatt on Supertalk Mississippi. This basketball season, Cross has skyrocketed up the ladder, throughout the ESPN digital and television platforms. While serving as play-by-play announcer for a litany of sports for SEC Network-Plus, the digital platform of the SEC Network, Cross has been seen this season on the SEC Network flagship channel. The SEC Network, owned by ESPN Inc., is operated out of ESPNU‘s facilities in Charlotte, NC. An incredible success, the SEC announced a record distribution of $455.8 million, or  $31.2 million per school, in its first year of existence in 2015, per USA Today.

Tonight, Cross was along side SEC television legend Joe Dean Jr., broadcasting the Ole Miss/Vanderbilt game on ESPNU. While also serving as sideline reporter for the Ole Miss Radio Network during football season, tonight had to be special for Cross. Without question, a seamless broadcast and it would appear the ladder will continue to trend upward. For a broadcaster, one would think latching on with the World Wide Leader is a smart choice. He’s not only latched on, he’s making the most out of a well-deserved opportunity.
