Many Ole Miss fans try and argue with rival fans on social media sites and in real life over the NCAA investigation. It is time for Ole Miss fans to embrace the role as the villain.

Unless you have been living under a rock, you have probably seen the Sports Illustrated article on Ole Miss. Many expected this article to be a “hit piece” towards Ole Miss. I personally thought it was, in a way, favorable towards Ole Miss. It made Lindsey Miller,  Laremy Tunsil’s step father, look like an egotistical liar with his hand out.

That’s my opinion but others are going to differ. No matter what the story was today the people that take interest in this NCAA case have already made up their minds. The result of the popular vote vs Ole Miss is that Ole Miss is guilty. It doesn’t matter that the N.O.A (Notice of Allegations) didn’t show that Ole Miss paid players all this cash to play for them like the popular belief.

It doesn’t matter what you say Mr./Mrs./Ms. Ole Miss fan, rival fan bases have already made up their mind that your team is guilty as sin. It doesn’t matter that Ole Miss has a bad record of getting recruits on signing day. Ole Miss has lost several key recruits whom chose other schools on signing day but they fail to see that. It doesn’t fit their agenda.

Like I said, embrace it Rebel fans, this is your time. Let the rival fans, national media or whoever spin this story how ever they want. They want Ole Miss to get “the hammer” because they know this coaching staff is for real and that as long as they are in Oxford, that Ole Miss is one of the elite teams not only in the SEC, but also the nation.

They won’t admit it but they know it’s true and that’s the reason for the hate. They want Ole Miss to have to forfeit games, get bowl bans, get major scholarship reductions and let players out of our scholarship because that’s the only way some teams can beat Ole Miss right now.

Let them talk. Let them tell you Ole Miss is going to have to forfeit games, then tell them no matter if that happens, the games and outcomes happened and there’s nothing they can do about it.

Remind them of the memory of celebrating in New Orleans after the Sugar Bowl, remind them of how it felt to be in Bryant-Denny Stadium celebrating the 2nd win in a row over Alabama, remind them how it was in the Grove after beating LSU the last 2 of 3 years and remind them where the golden egg is and has been the last 3 of 4 years (let’s be honest should be 4 out of 4) and two years in a row.

Let them hate, Ole Miss fans. Let them. No matter what you say will stop it or change their mind. It’s already made up. Embrace it and use it against them. Ole Miss is winning and unless the NCAA does something crazy Ole Miss will continue to win.

That and only that will cure this PR black eye. Until then, use the past few years against them. They can’t argue with the results on the field. EMBRACE IT!
