In 2014 it was reported that Florida wanted Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze to replace Will Muschamp.

Most Florida fans will tell you that Hugh Freeze was never offered the job, but according to Freeze and those around him, he was in fact offered the job and turned down the Gators. Today, in an interview with ESPN, Freeze was asked about Missouri coach Barry Odom.

Most fans agree that he is talking about the Florida job.

So what about his current defensive coordinator, Dave Wommack? Well, Wommack has family in Mississippi and he isn’t exactly young. I assume that Wommack would try to stay on at Ole Miss, maybe even make a run at the head coaching gig.

The Rebels will face Odom’s Missouri squad in 2019.

I think we can all agree though, Coach Freeze made the right decision in staying at Ole Miss.
