Evan Engram Wins the Ozzie Newsome Award

Evan Engram wins another award after his senior season, this time the Ozzie Newsome award for best tight end in the nation.

While he was snubbed for the John Mackey Award, senior Ole Miss tight end Evan Engram was awarded the Ozzie Newsome Award for best tight end in the nation according to the Touchdown Club in Columbus.

Engram has racked up a nice collection of awards this year, being named to the All-SEC first team, accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl, and winning the Conerly Trophy.

Ole Miss will have to replace Engram next season, as he looks to enter the NFL draft after finishing his senior season at Ole Miss.

Evan caught 926 yards this season for 8 touchdowns, leading the nation in receptions per game and yards per game by a tight end.

Engram was beat out by Jake Butt of Michigan, OJ Howard of Alabama, and Jordan Leggett of Clemson for the John Mackey finalist list. Jake Butt was announced the winner of the award earlier today.

Ole Miss will look to start Octavious Cooley at the tight end position next season in hopes to replace Evan Engram, a hard task for a sophomore to do.
