Ole Miss recruiting took a hit when Cam Akers announced his commitment to Florida State on Tuesday night. Here are four running backs Ole Miss needs to target to replace Akers.

Ole Miss recruiting took its biggest hit of the year when it lost 5-star running back Cam Akers to Florida State.

Akers preached his inability to get past the NCAA investigation when it came to his commitment.

The Rebels have seven running backs on the team after losing Akeem Judd to graduation.

While there are seven backs on the team for Ole Miss, there are several questions surrounding the position.

Can Eric Swinney come back healthy from his torn ACL? Will D’Vaughn Pennamon turn out to be the elite running back the coaches thought he could be?

Can Eugene Brazley continue to step up and take the next step for Ole Miss?

Phil Longo and the offensive staff need a speedster who can work his way into space and in-between tackles.

Ole Miss has the big bruiser back in Pennamon and Swinney, now they need someone to take over the void left by Jaylen Walton and Jeff Scott.

There are a lot of players from the high school and JUCO ranks that fulfill that need. Ole Miss just needs to go after those guys.
