Ole Miss football fans have been seeing the Hugh Freeze ‘YAHTZEE’ tweets and it’s been hard not to get excited about it. Despite the NCAA case against Ole Miss, recruiting has been doing very well.

I love the ‘YAHTZEE’ tweets like a lot of other Ole Miss football fans do. Of course, with the cloud of the COI looming and rumors swirling from the dark side, it’s a nice change of pace. It’s also very nice to see we are recruiting for depth on the defensive side of the ball. Ole Miss fans long for the resurgence of the LANDSHARK D.

Sure, some of us faithful have heard the moans and groans of the weak and wearied. Where are the 4-stars and 5-stars? Forget the stars and forget all the ‘sky is falling’ propaganda from down the road. Do a little research and watch some highlights. These young men are ballers. Most of them will be 4-stars by the end of the high school careers and hopefully they will all still be Rebels.

Where We Stand

Ole Miss football recruiting recently picked up their 9th overall commitment for the 2018 class. Amazingly 7 commits are defensive players and 5 are defensive linemen.

For those of us who miss the Landshark D this is a huge step back into contention for the SEC West division title.

Having a beat up defensive line will take the wind out of the best defenses. Of course, the ability to go deep defensively into games is what decides wins and losses.

When Ole Miss football has fielded a deep defensive front we have done exceptionally well.

Just to update you on who we have verbal defensive commitments from so far,

Next: Recruiting Is Booming!

Just check out the links above to each players respective video and then judge for yourself. So far I like what coaches Freeze and McGriff are doing with Ole Miss football recruiting. When you consider 5 of these are from out-of-state and 3 of those are from Alabama, then you know we are doing well. Of course I’m ready to see these guys throw up some fins. Hotty Toddy!
