While Ole Miss football fans are excited for this upcoming season there remain many unanswered questions regarding the NCAA case. With SEC Media Days just days away, we may get more than just answers.

SEC Media Days is a fan favorite which has been going on for years. Each July Ole Miss football fans and others have anxiously awaited the pressers of each SEC head coach and notable players. Of course, this year is no exception. However, this year may be just a little more dramatic than years past.

With the questions revolving around the NCAA case against Ole Miss, fans are more than ready for answers. Not just answers from Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze but affirmation of the SEC standing behind Ole Miss. So far SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey has avoided the NCAA case like the plague. However time is running out for Sankey and his SEC minions. With rumors swirling about a bombshell announcement during SEC Media Days there may be fireworks.

Expect Tough Questions

Nobody really knows what to expect when next week gets here. However from the history of past SEC Media Days we know there will be plenty of tough questions for Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze.

There will also be tough questions for the SEC from Ole Miss media members and others. Greg Sankey will also be front and center at the podium and he will have to either step up as SEC commissioner or continue to avoid the entire issue.

Of course, rumors are swirling about more pending lawsuits which could find their way onto the desks of Sankey and others with the SEC. There are also rumors the SEC could have hatchet plans for Ole Miss football beyond the self-imposed sanctions and the strong-arm of the NCAA Committee on Infractions.

Of course, the probability of the rumors being true are not likely, however if they are then the air may be just a little thicker in Hoover next week. SEC Media Days will still be drama filled and I’m thinking there will be fireworks by the end of the week.

Next: Sankey In Hiding...

The SEC released the complete schedule earlier this week. Ole Miss football head coach Hugh Freeze is slotted for Thursday and will be accompanied by Shea Patterson, Javon Patterson and Breeland Speaks.
