Coach Kermit Davis and Ole Miss basketball (16-7, 6-4) will be looking for their third consecutive win this Wednesday as they travel to face the Auburn Tigers (16-7, 5-5) The Rebels are coming off a 80-64 SEC road blowout of Georgia in Athens this past Saturday. The Rebels need another win and Auburn is next on the list.

The Rebels defeated then ranked No.11 Auburn earlier this season in Oxford and look for a sweep over the Tigers in the 2018-2019 Ole Miss basketball season. Auburn enters the Wednesday night showdown coming off a 83-78 road loss at LSU. Auburn is a very well coached team and will be a tough road test for the Rebels. Of course, the Tigers have some very talented players who are depended upon to be play-makers.

Observations

When you look at the key players which Bruce Pearl can be sure to perform you can see the similarities between the two teams. Besides their overall records the coaches and lineups are also very similar. Both teams have solid head coaches and also have sensational senior players who can score in bunches any night.

Right now, the Rebels have found their way back to the win column and on a two-game winning streak in the SEC. Coming off a huge blowout win plays into the Rebels hand although some big road wins can be trap games. When you figure in Auburn coming off a loss and this being a SEC road game them this won’t be easy for the Rebels.
