Sandy Creek High School

Tyrone, GA

5’10 166 Lbs. (per Rivals.com)

Rivals: 3 star #46 position

Scout: 4 star #19 position

ESPN: 4 star #5 position

Other notable offers: Georgia (committed), South Carolina (scheduled visit), Florida (scheduled visit), Texas A&M (scheduled visit), Auburn, Clemson, Ohio State, Tennessee

2013 depth at cornerback: Bobby Hill (commit, could play WR), Anthony Standifer (Fr.), Mike Hilton (So.), Nickolas Brassell (signed, Jr.), Zach Witchett (commit, could play WR), Senquez Golson (Jr.), Cliff Coleman (Jr.), Louis Covington (Sr.), Charles Sawyer (Sr.)

Scouting report: Wiggins is a very undersized prospect, certainly for the SEC. He more than makes up for it with his football instincts and his ball skills. Wiggins is keen on watching the quarterback’s eyes and reacting quickly. When the ball is in the air, he finds his way to the ball, or prepares himself to go full-speed at his target. Great footwork and quick turning hips, won’t get beat very often on slants or double-moves at the next level. If he were 2-3 inches bigger, we’d be talking about one of the elite prospects in the southeast.

Likelihood of signing with Ole Miss: He’s a Georgia prospect who has been signed with Georgia since last February. It is about as hard to pull those commitment away as it is to take an LSU commit out of Louisiana. Despite this commitment, Wiggins filled out the rest of his five official visits recently, including one to Ole Miss. A big reason for this is the logjam that has been created in the Georgia recruiting class. Mark Richt has a total of 10 defensive back commits so far in 2013, something that is making Wiggins take a look around. Last week, he Skyped with the entire Ole Miss coaching staff, talking about football, life, and jokes. He speaks highly of Oxford, Hugh Freeze, and the possible 2013 Ole Miss signing class.

According to Wiggins, he does not talk to the UGA coaches too much anymore, assuming that they are ticked off about his scheduled visits. Florida, South Carolina, and Ole Miss are very much in play for Wiggins and those are the three who he talks with the most. Florida’s problem is that they may not have a scholarship left for him, the same with A&M. South Carolina has promised him that he will have a scholarship, but there were earlier reports that he hung up on a call from Steve Spurrier. That leaves Ole Miss with maybe the second best chance to land a much needed Wiggins, but I wouldn’t hold my breath. My guess is that he stays with the Bulldogs, 10 percent chance of coming to Ole Miss.
