The 45 Most Valuable Rebels of 2014: No. 38 Mark Dodson
By Dave Bevan
The 2014 Ole Miss football season is just around the corner. Now that we have hit the 45 day mark until kickoff, we are going to countdown the most valuable Rebel players this season. Their rankings are based on their positions and how much of an impact they will bring to the table. Today on the countdown is…
2013 Season: In the 2013 season, Mark Dodson made his Ole Miss Rebel debut in the game against Southeast Missouri. Against SEMO, he recorded two rush attempts for a total of 12 yards. He also posted a tackle after an Ole Miss interception in that game. Dodson played in a total of 11 games, where he saw playing time on special teams and at running back. By the end of the season, Dodson recorded 124 rushing yards, a touchdown, a catch for a 30-yard touchdown, and a kickoff return for 20 yards.
The Value: Mark Dodson is our second running back on the list. He makes it a little higher on our list than Eugene Brazley due to experience. Dodson is just a little bigger than Brazley, just as good speed, and can really breakthrough tackles. With Jeff Scott gone, you could very well see more playing time for Dodson. He is looking to be Freeze’s first choice to back-up Mathers and Walton.
