Ole Miss basketball will update their uniform game in 2016. Men’s basketball will wear new Nike Elite uniforms, and the women will have “a little powder mixed into the uniform.”
It’s a powder blue phenomenon at Ole Miss. First, Ole Miss rolled out the helmets two years ago in honor of Chucky Mullins. After that, coach Smith and the softball team jumped on board. This baseball season, the Rebels wear the light blue uniforms on Sunday.
Last night, women’s head coach Matt Insell noted they will incorporate a version of the new alternate color.
The men’s basketball team would not elaborate on the colors but big news was shared yesterday. They will be one of only 51-teams in the county to wear the new Nike Elite uniforms.
Recruiting is heating up for both Rebel basketball programs because of their brand new arena. This can only add to the momentum both programs have generated. The Pavillion, as anticipated, has come a useful tool, for both Andy Kennedy and Matt Insell, as they attempt to take their programs to the next level.
Fun times ahead for Ole Miss basketball.
