Van Jefferson – RS-Freshman

Van Jefferson is the speedy slot receiver the Rebels love. Jefferson has been talked about by every coach from day one. The 6’2″ receiver is expected to be the deep threat the Rebels have lacked as of late.

Jefferson, who red-shirted 2015, is one of the WR’s the Rebels look to make an impact from day one this season. Jefferson has been taking snaps with the first-team in practice this year.

Van talked to Sudu Upadhyay of OMSpirit.com earlier this year and discussed his role with the team in the 2016.

"“Speed. The deep threat. I can go up and get the ball, so I think I can really help this offense with that.”"

Jefferson, the son of a NFL coach, also discussed the role his father had in his development.

"“It was very beneficial to me. Being around those NFL guys learning how they work and what they do was helpful to me. You see how they work. To have a dad teaching you that kind of stuff is very helpful to come into college and play at the SEC level. Learning from him was very helpful to me.”"

Jefferson will rack up yards for the Rebels this season, and it will most likely come in chunks. Expect some exciting plays with Jefferson getting behind the defense often.
