This Egg Bowl victory was the beginning to a magical few seasons. Without this victory, the Rebels do not make the BBVA Compass Bowl, which in turn, might have affected the 2013 signing class. The Rebels, who were led by Donte Moncrief, had to overcome a deficit to defeat the Bulldogs, showing their tenacity. Jonathan Banks is still recovering from Moncrief burning him all game.

Without this win, who knows what the Rebels become. This was Coach Freeze’s first win over the Bulldogs, an accomplishment he would repeat in 2014 and 2015. The Rebels would go on to defeat the Pittsburgh Panthers in the BBVA Compass Bowl later on.
