This was the first big time SEC win of the Hugh Freeze era. This win propelled the Rebels and gave them the momentum to finish the season 7-5 before going on to win the Music City Bowl.

With Andrew Ritter hitting the game winning field goal with no time left, the Rebels upset the Tigers on one of the coldest nights I have ever experienced.

The game was important to the players as well.

"“This is the biggest win of my life,” Ole Miss defensive end Cameron Whigham said. “I’m just so proud to be a part of the Ole Miss family and be able to compete with my brothers each Saturday.”"

The MVP of the game was easily Bo Wallace, who had an excellent game going 30-for-39 for 346 yards. The win snapped a three game losing streak for the Rebels.
