Rommel Mageo | RS Senior
The Oregon State transfer linebacker is expected to be the lead linebacker this season. Mageo led the Beavers in tackles last season with 87. He has come into training camp strong so far and has been running with the 1st string defense.
Freeze talked to the Clarion-Ledger about Mageo the other day.
"“Rommel is a quick learner,” Freeze said. “I think the speed to which we play may be a little different from how he has been used to practicing. He’s made some adjustment to that, but we’re excited about him. He’s going to play extremely hard.”"
Here is a video of Mageo in running some drills in camp. Some of the quickest feet I have seen on a linebacker.
Mageo is the first prototypical linebacker the Hugh Freeze has worked with since he joined the team in 2012.
Oregon State used Mageo as a rushing linebacker at times, which is showcased in this video.
I expect big things out of Mageo, and think that he could be the key to the 2016 defense at Ole Miss.
