7. Linebacker

The linebacker position has been the soft spot on Dave Wommack’s defenses so far in his tenure as defensive coordinator. Ole Miss returns Demarquis Gates, Terry Caldwell, Temario Strong and also added graduate transfer Rommel Mageo and  junior college transfer Detric Bing-Dukes.

The linebackers have not been exposed much because of the standout play of the defensive line in past seasons. It has been a tough position to recruit to due to the 4-2-5 scheme that Wommack employs. Depending on how Mageo and Bing-Dukes adapt, this could be the deepest LB unit we have seen in some time in Oxford. However, right now they are the weakest unit on the team.
