Jacob Eason/Greyson Lambert | Georgia

The theme of the SEC this year seems to be “Quarterback Battles”. Seems like many teams have a decision to make regarding who will be calling the shots on offense this year. Probably no one signifies this more than the Georgia Bulldogs. Their situation is so fluid, the OleHottyToddy.com staff can’t agree on who the starter will be when the Rebel face them on September 24th.

Therefore, I have decided to reserve this spot for whichever Bulldog QB comes out on top. Either one would be the fourth best quarterback we will face. It may be the senior that led the Dawgs in passing last year, Greyson Lambert. Yet, many are leaning toward the highly touted true freshman Jacob Eason.

Lambert brings experience and leadership to the QB position. But Eason is probably the second best freshman quarterback in the country (behind the Rebels’ Shea Patterson). Coach Kirby Smart is in his first season as head coach and want to make a splash in Bulldog country. Therefore, if the eventual starter doesn’t play well early, he may be replaced quickly by the number two guy.

The Bulldogs are loaded with talent at running back, so the QB just needs to make smart throws and few mistakes. But National Title contenders need to have a quarterback that can make plays when called upon. Consequently, time will tell if either one of these guys can do that.
