Ranking the Quarterbacks the Rebels Will Face in 2016
John Franklin III | Auburn
Auburn fits the mold of Vanderbilt. If they could ever solve their quarterback issues they may be a legit SEC West contender. Last year, senior Jeremy Johnson and sophomore Sean White were in a battle for the starting job. They were both in and out of the starting line up. Which led to a lack of continuity at that position.
Both those quarterbacks are back but it appears they may lose the job to Florida State transfer John Franklin III. Franklin seems to fit the mold of the type of QB Coach Gus Malzahn likes to have behind the center. He is a dangerous runner with great speed. He appear to have a live arm.
But he is unproven. Although he seems to have a lot of hype, we remember that Jeremy Johnson also came with a lot of hype. He seemed to fizzle under the pressure. I don’t think Franklin will do the same. But it looks like there’s a lot of confusion surrounding the program at Auburn. I don’t know if he is in a position to succeed this year.
