Deondre Francois | Florida State

The word around Tallahassee, Fl. was that there was an intense competition for the starting quarterback job at Florida State. Sean Maguire and Deondre Francois had both taken practice with the first team. But this week Maguire suffered an injury setback that will require him to have surgery and miss the next four weeks of football activity. That means he will miss the Labor Day game against the Rebels.

Because of that injury, we will get to see the start of the Deondre Francois era of Seminole football. Although many sports pundit thought he would end up as the eventual starter, the injury to Maguire solidified the move. So now that they know who will be behind center, the Rebels will be able to focus on stopping an extremely athletic QB.

Due to this being his first live game action, this ranking in completely conjecture. His high-ranking is based on hype and reports from practice. But it is said that he can make all the throws while having the ability to scramble. He will no doubt be a great player. I just hope he doesn’t realize that until week two.
