It Takes Teamwork

It really does take the team to win this game, or any game for that matter, and this Rebel team is loaded for bear. In the games against Monmouth and Syracuse, Terrance Davis had 41 points and 12 rebounds. Against Syracuse, Davis led the Rebel charge with 30 points and leading scorer accolades.

In the first two NIT games, Deandre Burnett would also add 36 points, while Cullen Neal added 26 points. This entire season, Ole Miss basketball has been able to put up points and has depended on its bench. The Rebel bench has accounted for 42 points throughout the first two games.

This AK team has stars, which are each easily capable of setting the pace for a scoring explosion. Add to that, the fact they want to win a championship and they could literally run through the rest of this NIT tourney.  Ole Miss fans can expect this team to put up a strong effort which will reap results throughout the remainder of the tourney.

I’ve heard various people use the very ‘cliché’ statement, “This team is built for tourney play.” It’s just one of those March statements you hear about every team. However, this team really is! All season, this AK team has been resilient and able to get better as the season went along. Now they find themselves on the cusp of cutting down nets in The Garden.
