#1 How Good Will The Rebels Be In 2017?

This Ole Miss football team is determined to be the very best they can be. Honestly, I believe the sky is the limit for this team. Of course, after a week to sit and watch half of the SEC spring games, it is obvious Shea Patterson and our offense will be one of the best in the SEC West. How that transfers to wins and losses relies completely on the defensive improvements Wesley McGriff will certainly make.

Many pundits have picked us last in the SEC West simply by default, in light of the NCAA investigation, the NOA, and inevitably sanctions. However, this is simply homer-ism from opposing SEC beat writers. Now, based on last season, it is easy to see why some of them have a legitimate argument. Of course, this is a  new season with new coaches and new players.

Ole Miss will undoubtedly have one of the toughest schedules in the SEC. Of course, that is just because we play in the toughest division in college football. Nobody wants to even begin to give Ole Miss a snowball’s chance of running the gauntlet in the SEC this coming fall. However, based on what I’ve seen in the past week. The Ole Miss Rebels chances are as good or better than any other.

So, the only thing left to do is make a pick for this season. There will be no SEC championship game or bowl game regardless. However we will have a team which will destroy the hopes and dreams of plenty who can. Looking at the schedule, I see Ole Miss winning 8 games, possibly more, completely dependent upon our defense and the ability to stay healthy as a team.

Ole Miss begins the season on September 2, at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium against South Alabama.
