Ole Miss Football: Early Summer Questions About The 2017 Rebels
Summer Questions: Player That Needs To Finish His Career Strong?
With all the relatively young talent on the team, it is easy to take for granted the upperclassmen that are here. However, it’s those seniors that give the leadership to the team. Therefore, they are important to the cohesiveness of the team. In addition, they also need to bring production on the field.
Consequently, there are several seniors that need to produce. Some have had great careers that deserve to go out in style like Marquis Haynes. However, there are those whose careers have been regulated to helping off the bench. Players like C J Hampton and Markell Pack have added to the depth of the team.
However, there is one player we believe needs to finish his Ole Miss career off strong.
Jordan Wilkins
I hate reading a national article that states Jordan Wilkins missed the 2016 season due to academic reasons. It gives a false narrative as if he is not an intelligent individual and that it was entirely his fault he missed last season. However, his absence created two things. First, Wilkins went an entire season without the physical toll ;last season would have put on his body. Secondly, it has created a competitive fire in his bones that he is ready to unleash.

Wilkins has always shown the physical ability to be a great back in the SEC. However, he has always been the second or third option in the Ole Miss backfield. However during his senior year, the Cordova, TN native will definitely be the main man. Don’t let the passing offense in Coach Longo’s offense fool you. There will be plenty of opportunity for Wilkins to find running room and have the chance to put up good numbers. This is his year to shine. Therefore, I expect him to take advantage of it.
