Monday afternoon Ole Miss football recruiting reeled in another huge verbal commitment. Once again, the Rebels went over state lines and hooked 3-star DT Kadarian Hill of Eufaula, Alabama.

This Ole Miss football recruiting season is a very pleasant surprise for Rebel fans. Before Tuesday Ole Miss fans had focused on the NCAA Notice of Allegations. We watched, we waited and worried over what potential sanctions could do to cripple Ole Miss football. We worried about how it would affect recruiting especially.

No need to worry as Freeze and staff have been working hard and on pace to have a really good class. When you factor in the NCAA ‘cloud of fairness’ we’ve been under, I’d say we are golden. Needless to say it makes me feel good to see coach Freeze back full flow into a major area of his element, recruiting. It also makes me feel good when I see his YAHTZEE tweets.

Recruiting has been business as usual for Freeze and staff and appears to be running smoothly. Of course, with Freeze you already know you are getting a great recruiter. With the signing of players like 3-star DT Kadarian Hill, Ole Miss proves it is still able to get the great players. Lets look at what we get from the Eufaula High School standout.

This Is Kadarian Hill

Don’t let the 3-star fool you when it comes to Hill. Kadarian hill isn’t just a great player, he is a beast on the defensive line.

At 6’1″ and 285 lbs Hill easily fits the mold of a SEC defensive tackle. He is very agile for a big DL and has an incredible burst beyond the line of scrimmage

With his size and speed Hill literally burst through tackles. He plays off the ball hard, low and fast but has incredible vision and is always very close to the play if he doesn’t make it himself.

Kadarian Hill literally lines up at defensive tackle, gets off his block quickly and closes on the play like a defensive end.

Seriously, Hill is a great player and was no gimme for Ole Miss football recruiting. Coach Freeze went into two SEC West rivals territory and stole this gem. Just watch Hill’s highlight reel from his junior season and judge for yourself.

What This Means

This excites me most about this class. Coach Hugh Freeze and DL coach Freddie Roach are committed to maintaining an already tough defensive line. Of course, with the departure of Chris Kiffin many Ole Miss football fans were worried about the one bright spot in our defense last season. We all missed the ‘Landshark Defense’ last season.

However, the Landshark D begins up front. Big guys in the middle anchor your defensive line. The bigger and badder they are, the more formidable defense you have. When you recruit those kind of guys then you are making a statement. Kadarian Hill is one of those guys. Hill is a player which will demand double-teams while being explosive off the line. The best thing, he plays really mean and is aggressive. He has the ability to be an overall outstanding player on the SEC level.

Kadarian Hill ranked the No.5 DT in Alabama and is the third defensive tackle committed to the class. Good job Freeze and Co and welcome to Ole Miss Kadarian.
