Former Ole Miss football player Evan Engram is now officially a New York Giant. With the end of minicamp the Giants signed Engram to a four-year contract with the historic NFL organization.

There are many of us Ole Miss football fans are who were already fans of the NY Giants for obvious reasons. However, with the first-round selection of Evan Engram there are a whole lot more. Now, with the end of the Giants recent minicamp Engram has signed his contract.

This is huge for both Engram and the Giants for a number of reasons. Engrams speed and hands will make him an immediate threat within the Giants offense. The Giants organization have already made it clear they will use the rookie tight-end creatively within their offensive schemes.

For many this points to Engram also getting playing time in multiple offensive formations. Some believe he will play TE as well as getting time in the slot. This would bode well for the Giants who already have a great receiving corp. It would also benefit Engram who will have a chance to get more touches.

Within an explosive Giants offense filled with playmaking receivers like Odell Beckham and Brandon Marshall, Evan Engram will be an easy goto for Eli Manning in have-to situations.

Evan Engram was definitely a playmaker while playing TE for Ole Miss. In the wide open Ole Miss offense, Engram was almost unstoppable. Engram racked up 2,320 yards on 162 receptions while scoring 15 TDs. All are Ole Miss records for a TE according to OleMissSports.com.

One thing is certain. Evan Engram looks great as a Giant and has his first rookie card out. He appears to be settling into the New York family well too. Evan recently threw out the first pitch in a New York Mets game.

The details of the contract is for four years with a team option on the fifth year. The contract is for 2.6 million dollars a year with a total payout of 10.7 million dollars over the life of the contract.
