5. Cody Core-Cincinnati Bengals

Many would not have guessed that between Laquon Treadwell and Cody Core that the latter would have had a better rookie year. However, Core’s season with the Bengals was more productive than Treadwell’s with the Vikings. Core had a modest 17 catches for 200 yards but he opened the eyes of the Bengals’ coaching staff.

Core went down with an apparent leg injury last week but it appears to be fine after the first x-ray. If he stays healthy, he could see more time on the field. Core has his future wide open for him.

Whether he finds his place permanently in Cincinnati or he goes elsewhere whenever free agency comes up, Core is going to have a career in the league. He has the speed that teams like and he has improved his route running since last year.

Getting Better?

The Bengals’ coaching staff believe that Core can contribute regularly for them. He could benefit from having A. J. Green on the field with him since Green will draw most of the attention. If Core continues to produce, he will gain the confidence of Andy Dalton and the offensive staff.

Core’s star is going to rise higher and higher each year. Therefore, he is high on the list because right now he has proven stats that show he can be productive at the professional level. How long he stays this high depends of the growth of those below him and his ability to continue to get better. I can’t wait to see what he does for the Bengals in 2017.
