Mississippi State Bulldogs

Forgive me if I’m the only guy in the country not sold on Nick Fitzgerald. However, if you listen to everyone else, Miss. State and their all-star QB are on the precipice of greatness. I don’t buy it unless greatness is capped at seven wins. In games were Fitzgerald was controlled on the ground, his passing was suspect. Teams will be ready for him this year.

They snuck into a bowl game last year based on academics and not their five wins. This year they will face a similar problem. You can count losses to LSU, Georgia and Auburn. They are not going to beat Texas A&M on Kyle Field. Plus they won’t beat Alabama no matter where they played.

The game at La Tech is a trap game and won’t be easy. Both Kentucky and Arkansas will be close. If there is any justice in this world, the Rebels will face the Bulldogs with a bowl game on the line. Therefore, when we snatch our Egg Bowl trophy from their hands we will have the added joy of watching them whine about it as they join us at home. Good luck, Southern Miss. You are Mississippi’s only hope for a bowl game this year.
