Class of 2020

This is the class that was the hardest to find just one player to highlight. This class of 2020 is one of the most talented in the SEC. When you begin to look at the list of players that make up this class, you can’t help but smile.

On the defensive side of the ball the talent is everywhere. They were young last year, however they gained valuable experience. A player like Benito Jones could very well end up being the most talented on the team. He showed flashes of dominance last year. Defensive backs like Myles Hartsfield, Jaylon Jones and Deontay Anderson will be stars in their own right.

The offense is just as good. The combination of strength and speed is rare yet A. J. Brown appears to possess it. Greg Little is the latest addition to the Ole Miss Super Left Tackle club. Picking up right where Laremy Tunsil left off, Little will be amazing. Jason Pellerin is possibly the most talented person on the team.

Choosing the best in this Ole Miss football class was difficult. Shea Patterson will be the best quarterback that has signed with Ole Miss out of high school since Eli Manning. I expect him to put up amazing numbers in this Phil Longo offense. However when I think about the most skillfully talented sophomore on this team, one player keeps coming to my mind.

My choice for 2020…

Van Jefferson

Fans you ought to be excited. You have lived through the most talented stretch of wide receivers we have ever seen here at one time. This year’s team may be the most talented  group we have ever seen. Barring injuries, there will be no unit better in the conference. However, make no mistake, Van Jefferson is a huge reason for it.

Jefferson in the slot position may end up being Patterson’s favorite receiver. He has amazing speed. His hands are the hands that NFL teams look for. Jefferson is sharpening his route running. He has the ability to get open. He has the ability to separate. With the two beast on the outside, Brown and D. K. Metcalf, Jefferson will see the ball with room to roam. Mark my words, Jefferson is a bona fide star.
