Serving A Greater Purpose

Although the meetings are important they were not the highlights of the weekend. The schedule included working at Community Food Bank of Central Alabama and the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge. Both of these non-profit organizations play a tremendous role within the community.

Of course, the student-athletes also had a chance to sit down with SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey to discuss a variety of topics which were selected by the student-athletes themselves.

The SEC SAAC and Leadership Councils were both created in order to bring student-athletes throughout the SEC together. Through the meetings of the SAAC and Leadership Councils these student-athletes can discuss issues which affect them all.

A number of speeches and presentations were made by some great people. Former NFL player Chris Draft of the Chris Draft Foundation, Josh Foliart of MULTIPLi and Freddie Scott II were all presenters. Scott II currently serves as president of Unlock The Champion. All three of these individuals represent non-profit organizations which help to build self-worth, character and development of leaders.
