KANSAS CITY, MO - MARCH 24: Marshall Henderson

Ole Miss basketball has seen its fair share of ups and downs throughout the Andy Kennedy years.  From buzzer beating upsets to being humbled at home by a lesser opponent, Ole Miss basketball always surprises the fans.

The good from Andy Kennedy‘s squad has far outweighed the bad. This shouldn’t be surprising as he is the most successful coach in school history.

Ole Miss basketball has always had a knack at keeping games intriguing. This trend being good for our health as fans is up for debate. Health aside, Ole Miss basketball has provided us with several memories we will never forget, good and bad.

Honestly, there has truly been only one disastrous result from Ole Miss basketball. This event, however, has absolutely nothing to do with basketball. The catastrophe in question is Rasheed Brooks having a seizure mid-game during the 2016/17 season.

Luckily, there have been a plethora of great memories from Ole Miss basketball, and I will rank my top 5.

 5. Comeback Kids

Who doesn’t love a good comeback? Okay, maybe the fans of the team collapsing, but nobody else.

Being an NCAA tournament game propels this comeback over most others; however, the tournament isn’t all the comeback has going for it.

Ole Miss overcame a 17 point first-half deficit.  How did Ole Miss achieve this?  They scored 62 second half points.

4. He Did What?

More from Ole Miss Basketball

Marshall Henderson will always be a fan favorite in Oxford. He is a major reason that Stefan Moody made his way to Ole Miss.

Marshall led the entire nation in three’s attempted during a season and lead Ole Miss to an SEC Tournament Championship.

Let us not kid ourselves though, Marshall is loved for much more than production on a basketball court.

The guy was must-watch TV. You never knew what crazy antic he would come up with next.

3. Senior Showcase

Stefan Moody dropped 43 points at home against arch-rival Mississippi State on senior night.  Seriously, this is the stuff legends are made of.

You couldn’t have drawn up a better finale to Stefan Moody’s astonishing Ole Miss career. Stefan dropped a career high to lead Ole Miss to victory over Mississippi State. He went out with a blaze of fire, and it was downright exciting to watch.

Moody gave arguably the best performance in Ole Miss basketball history on senior night and that’s poetic.

2. Champions

How could Ole Miss first SEC tournament championship not make this list? There is no answer to that, stop trying to find one.

Another come from behind win, noticing a trend yet?

Anyways, this was a fitting end to a magical basketball season. Yes, I know they played two NCAA tournament games after this.

Those 2 games fail in comparison to winning the conference. Years down the line, people will forget about losing to La Salle in the round of 32, but nobody will forget winning the conference.

1. Heartbreak Kid

In terms of sheer joy, this memory is light years ahead of the competition.

Chris Warren broke Kentucky’s heart and the entire conference celebrated. I remember jumping around my living room, similarly to the way I celebrated following each Ole Miss football upset of Alabama.

There’s just something about taking down a giant that brings about sheer, unfiltered, joy. Oh, and sadness from the giants, but that is what makes it fun!

Chris Warren’s three to beat Kentucky will probably never be matched. Unless, some Ole Miss basketball player hits a buzzer beater to beat, say, Duke in a national championship.
