Ole Miss football fans have been waiting for a bombshell. Well it’s right here with another edition of Grove Grinder. They must think we are stupid. Oh we have a lot to talk about.

Of course, most fans of other schools do think Ole Miss football fans are stupid. Apparently now the SEC offices do as well. SEC Media Days has been a let down. Sadly, this year has been the most orchestrated schedule at any point in the event’s history and it’s been disappointing. It’s been very obvious to everybody this SEC Media Days has been boring.

I mean we are down to day three and I have a few more-than-friendly observations. Other than Spurrier there hasn’t been much to talk about. I mean I love the ‘Old Ball Coach’ and wish he was in Hoover as a coach. At least then we could have a catchy quote and not have to listen to Cousin Eddie suck up to the SEC Commissioner and talk about his favorite walk-up music.

It was a nice touch however to have the presser dedicated to Eddie’s coaching record and Dak Prescott. Don’t get me wrong Dak deserved the limelight of love from the media there. Like three years ago! This brings me too my next point. The media dropped the ball at SEC Media Days and it’s really sad.

Let’s Be Real Here

‘The Press’ has always had an obligation to the public. A responsibility to get the true facts or at least attempt to. However, the media has failed miserably in doing anything other than shading the real story.

That is deceptive on the part of the SEC and the media which is in Hoover for ‘media’ days. If you had a chance to ask a specific question about a program’s involvement of another ‘rival’ and you didn’t…FAIL!

I bet the wolves come out Thursday in Hoover when Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze takes the stage. That’s when the media will want ‘real’ answers instead of focusing on the NCAA rail-job against Ole Miss which also involves another SEC school, a head coach and at least two players.

One of which admitted to NCAA investigators he solicited money from ‘multiple’ schools. Yeah nothing to see here, smh.

It’s sad when the SEC wants to tip-toe around issues which involve certain schools. However, what can we expect from the SEC? I expected it from the SEC Office, however I never expected it from the media. Of course, the SEC must be to blame.

Next: The MSU Moofia!

There’s no way the media which I’ve so closely followed, respected and admired could be guilty of taking it easy on certain coaches. I guess we find out tomorrow. I hope you all get the answers you’re really looking for. Hotty Toddy!
