Ole Miss football has some new faces around campus and in Oxford. One of those new faces is defensive line coach Freddie Roach.

By now most Ole Miss football fans are well aware of the coaching changes throughout the SEC which brought new faces to Oxford. Nick Saban led Lane Kiffin out of T-town and in turn helped lead Chris Kiffin away from Ole Miss. Of course, when older brother Lane took over the head coaches position at Florida Atlantic, younger brother Chris followed as DC.

The departure of Chris Kiffin left a position open within the Ole Miss coaching staff which was filled by Freddie Roach. Most older Ole Miss football fans can remember Freddie from his playing days at Bama. He was a thorn in the side of every offensive coordinator on Bama’s schedule while he was playing from 2002-2005.

Oh if you don’t remember Freddie Roach then you are either way too young or you may have enjoyed yourself way too much in the early 2000s. Freddie Roach was a standout at Bama. He didn’t waste time getting started while being named All-American as a freshman and being named the National Freshman of the Year. He also made All-SEC twice and was selected to Alabama’s All-Decade Team.
