Ole Miss Football: We Really Don’t Care What You Think About Freeze
Everyone seems to have an opinion about how Ole Miss football fans should feel about Coach Hugh Freeze. With all due respect, we don’t care what you think about our coach.
It appears that something else has happened in the land of Ole Miss football. You can always tell when something is happening against the Rebels, because the Mississippi State social media warriors are usually up early with their attacks on Hugh Freeze.
Whenever there is a ripple in the Ole Miss football community, those outside of the program began to wax poetic about Coach Freeze’s future. It’s no big secret there are reporters who have increased their follower numbers based on writing negative articles on Freeze.
Ole Miss Rebels Football
The newest arrow to hit the football team is the lawsuit filed by Houston Nutt. Although a major issue in the NCAA investigation against Ole Miss happened under his watch, he has blamed the administration for his lack of employment.
However, he is not just suing the school. He is also personally blaming Coach Freeze for his unemployment. Nutt’s lack of a job must have caused him to forget the last two years of his coaching career. However, I digress.
These reporters and rival fan bases always end their comments with ideas of show clauses or firings. They suggest that Ole Miss fans are being ridiculous in their commitment to their coach. They claim we blindly follow Coach as he leads us down the rabbit hole with degradation and lies.
This is just a little message for those who are not in the Ole Miss family or media members who has used this opportunity to advance your career. WE DON’T CARE WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT OUR COACH.
Our Coach…
It is clear a line has been drawn in the sand. There are those who have decided that Coach Freeze is a charlatan and no matter what the outcome of the NCAA investigation, they have decided his guilt. He could use his entire salary to feed the homeless and they would want him investigated for giving improper benefits.

However, we don’t care what your opinions are. You’ve chosen to cherry pick the information you will cover or report on. You’ve chosen the things you want to believe. If there were any un-biased writings being shared then we would listen. Unfortunately, the negative articles get the clicks.
Ole Miss fans have decided to stand behind our coach. The Rebels fans, as well as the Ole Miss athletic department have chosen to support the football coach we’ve come to appreciate over the past few years.
Priorities…
If he ignored the systemic sexual assault of female student on campus like Art Briles, then we would run him out-of-town. Or if he had knowledge of possible child molestations like Joe Paterno, we would lead the march to remove him from his office. However, we will not treat this man like someone who has permitted things like that.
There is nothing Coach Freeze has done which rises to the level of vitriol that he receives. Not one thing. He has harmed no one. His biggest crimes among most are the facts that he was able to compete. That he was able to convince good players to come to Oxford. This has nothing to do with keeping a level of playing field. It’s about keeping Ole Miss in its place.
Therefore, one school is jealous because they struggle bringing big name talent to their school. Another school is upset because the Rebels got some players that they used to get without issue. Plus, the media they use as lap dogs for pushing their stories now write negative pieces in order to put the Rebels back in their place.
Simply Facts…
Coach Freeze is not listed as some kind of scofflaw in the NCAA investigation. He is the leader and like in most cases in life, the buck stops with him. However, many have assumed he must be evil. Why? There is no answer. It just makes their story play better in their head. It helps fuel their hate.
All that being said, we really don’t care what you think. Freeze is our coach. We support him in the midst of this firestorm. The fan base have rallied around him no matter what. So you can save yourself the columns about whether or not Ole Miss should keep him. We’re keeping him.

If you’re not sure, why don’t you come out to the Grove on any given Saturday this fall. Either way, we really don’t care. Your opinion doesn’t matter to us. You don’t care to be fair about the situation anyway. Therefore, we’re not looking for your approval. However, if talking about the Rebels make you happy, then talk away.
