All Ole Miss football fans knew this would be interesting when the NY Giants announced Evan Engram as their pick in the first round of the draft. Evan was an outstanding TE for Ole Miss if not possibly the best ever to don the Rebel red and blue.

His play and leadership on the field while at Ole Miss was a contribution in the success of the Ole Miss offense. Most fans credit the that success in  large part to Evan’s speed and hands. However, it is his gritty style of play when he didn’t get the ball which many fans missed.

Evan is also a great blocker downfield and that fares well for the other Giants receivers which Eli will have at his disposal.

Naturally, it all depends just how fast Evan picks up the speed of the NFL game. Of course, we know speed isn’t a problem for Evan after his blazing combine times which led all tight-ends.

I believe Evan is the TE which will become another key in the Giants offensive cog at some point. He has the talent to develop into a all-pro TE. When it happens pretty much depends on Evan. Being the first round draft pick he will get plenty of chances. I say a fellow Rebel helps deliver for Manning and Eli will need that from any TE to have another shot at a Super Bowl MVP.
