3. Memphis

I’m all for playing your big rivals, looking at you Texas and Texas A&M. Memphis, however, should not be considered a major rival to Ole Miss, even if Memphis considers Ole Miss one.

When you think of Ole Miss rivals you come up with MSU, LSU, Alabama, etc. You do not come up with Memphis.

Also, playing a group of players pissed off at you for passing on them is not a good business model for success. This is only magnified when you plop them in between important conference games.

We all remember losing to Memphis back in 2015. Memphis has been a major thorn in our side dating back to 2014.

It is in the best interest of the football programs pride that Memphis be blacklisted as a future scheduling addition.
