5. Mike Norvell

Mike Norvell is the current head coach at Memphis. Norvell led Memphis to an 8-5 season during his first year in charge.

Norvell did an incredible job replacing Justin Fuente. If you remember, Fuente was the head man when Memphis upset our 2015 Sugar Bowl winning team. He previously served as the offensive coordinator for Pittsburgh and Arizona State. He also set Central Arkansas all-time reception record as a player, if you’re into that kind of thing.

Norvell has had stellar offenses at ASU and Memphis. He has also had good success coaching quarterbacks.

His ASU offenses averaged around 34 points a game in his last four seasons. During his first season at Memphis, he helped Riley Ferguson break Paxton Lynch‘s single season TD record and throw for over 3,800 yards. This is impressive as Lynch was a far better quarterback.
