Shea Patterson, QB

This is the man we will be depending on the most this season. Oh don’t worry about me putting pressure on Shea Patterson. He doesn’t do pressure unless it’s on the field and then we all know what he is capable of. But seriously, can you imagine how tough this off-season has been on this guy. The great thing about Shea is he handles things off the field as well as he does in-game.

This is the deal. Shea Patterson is the leader of this offense and he clearly is way past ready to play ball. That’s a great thing for Ole Miss football fans. Although there have been rumors from TSBU for months about a mass exodus of players from Oxford we’ve been luck on this front. As much as some of the rumors have unfortunately panned out to be true, this team has stuck together and it is mainly because of the most high-profile player on the team.

Shea has ultimately been the glue which has held this team together. Of course, the attitude of this team will ultimately reflect the leadership which Shea brings to it. Naturally, the success of this offense will also depend on Shea as well.

Shea, of course, is coming off a freshman season which saw him thrown into the fire of SEC play when Chad Kelly went down with a season ending injury. Although the decision was made to burn Shea’s red-shirt, he handled the task with the same attitude he has now. He was and still is ‘just ready to play ball’, plain and simple.

Next: I'm Going 9-3!

In Closing

Shea put up incredible numbers despite the win loss record with him at the helm. In three starts in 2016 he completed 72 of 132 passes for 880 yards with 6 TD while averaging 293 yards per game. It is my firm belief this could be the best offense we’ve seen in Oxford since Eli was here. Once again, no pressure Shea. Good luck to you in your sophomore season as Rebel quarterback. Hotty Toddy!
