Galeophobia

(Fear of Sharks)

I have named this category of fears, Uber Fears. These are the fears that are so great I don’t believe they can be overcome so easily. There is one thing they have been afraid of for the past few years. It’s the one thing that was not as prevalent last year but appears to be making a turn around. Secret inside their inner being our rivals have a bad case of galeophobia.

There is fear that the Ole Miss landshark may be trying to make an appearance in 2017. Whether the defense will be that good this year is unknown. However, the fear of our rivals is real. They fear the shark. They are afraid that if Ole Miss defense improves in any way, the Rebels become dangerous again.

So, they lie awake at night having nightmares about sharks. They wonder how it will feel to have to face that defense once again. Their galeophobia makes it impossible for them to enjoy shark week on television. Especially when knowing sooner or later they have to become shark bait.

There is nothing you can do to help. Their fear is legitimate. The landsharks are coming to get them. There is no where they can run and no where they can hide.

Atychiphobia

(Fear of Defeat)

I can’t help you here. You should be afraid. Your atychiphobia is real. The Ole Miss Rebels are coming for you. After months and months of antagonistic verbiage from several fans of the rivals, we are looking forward to seeing you this year.

You have reason to fear. The team has heard every bit of your accusations toward them. The Rebel fans know you are hoping the NCAA do what you could never do consistently on the field. You assumed once Hugh Freeze was fired you’d feel better. However, you are still afraid.

The last modicum of hope left is a harsh punishment from the NCAA. Many believe if Ole Miss gets a two-year bowl ban we will be destroyed. That doesn’t protect you from this year, though. Our death is over-exaggerated. We will be fine no matter what happens. Why? Because we will always be Ole Miss. Fear the Rebels.
