Shea Patterson, Heisman Finalist

I never said these weren’t very bold predictions. Some of you will want to laugh this off, however this young man’s entire football career has been a highlight reel. While you laugh, just go back and watch his IMG highlights. Shea Patterson is a very special quarterback and in his 3 starts last season he completed 72 of 132 passes for 880 yards and 6 TDs with a 121.0 pass efficiency rating. He played well considering he was thrown into the fire late in SEC play.

Let’s just be honest here. We all know the only reason he didn’t start the season opener last season was because of Chad Kelly. Had Chad not been there Shea would have probably started and had more success. This season in this offense with the super-fast pace a mobile quarterback will thrive. Shea Patterson will be prolific and Shea will show out.

Manziel 2.0

There are people outside of Ole Miss fans who believe Shea is as good as Johnny Manziel and many who think he’s even better. Of course, ask any Ole Miss fan and they will tell you the latter. If Shea can put up incredible numbers against SEC foes, he will certainly be in the Heisman consideration. However they have to be Manziel numbers and this is certainly the offense to do it with.

He is a model student-athlete and will garner the attention of Heisman voters. Of course, as good as he may be his vote count will certainly be affected by the NCAA fiasco which Ole Miss is in the middle of. However, I still believe he will be sitting in NYC for the award presentation. Good luck Shea!

Well that’s my five very bold predictions for the 2017 season. I know this team is loaded with talent and especially on the offensive side of the ball. Of course, success for any of these bold predictions depends on the defense as well. This season is going to be a lot of fun Ole Miss football fans. Are you ready?
