Hail….yeah y’all keep waiting on that. But you should listen. This season the NCAA really can’t save you. Ole Miss football is coming and we have an ax to grind.

Ole Miss football is close, very close. It’s right around the corner and it’s going to be a very special season for this Rebel team. Rebel fans get ready, there is something we have going for us this season that no other team has. We have an ax to grind.

All that we’ve had to endure off the field has literally brought us to where we are now. This season is virtually within our grasps and we have the whole nation against us. Of course, I can understand their plight. They have to face a team which they think has been broken down by a broken system. However, we are nowhere near broken down.

There are a lot of things the NCAA can control, we know that now. We are also very aware of their strong-arm tactics and evil agenda. However, there are a couple of things the NCAA can’t control. They can’t control this team this season and they can’t save our foes.

This Is Their Problem Now

No matter how bad it gets for us from here on out it will do little to have an impact on this Ole Miss football team this season. Sure, we have no possible chance at going to a bowl game but it isn’t the end of football season.

In fact, it is being used as a catalyst for this Ole Miss football team. Of course, the fire the NCAA has fueled under this team will mean problems for opponents this season.

The attitude of this team has been off the charts throughout the whole investigation and the subsequent fallout. Now they are just ready to go onto the field and play football.

Also, they are ready to show the nation why the Ole Miss Rebels are a team to be feared in the college football conversation. Of course, they have taken all the negative circumstances and made them into positives for this season.

Surprising is the fact everyone has written them off because there is a self-imposed bowl ban. The mainstream sports media has painted a picture of another failing season simply because of the NCAA ordeal. I’m a huge fan of John Crist but I believe he got this one all wrong. The SEC shouldn’t be nervous, they should be very scared of the potential of this team.

The Reason For Fear

This team is tight and they will be playing this season to make a statement. They also know they are loaded with talent and have the opportunity to be an offensive powerhouse. Shea Patterson is my quarterback for a trip to the Heisman selections. Also, Shea has one of the most talented offenses talent-wise he has ever had a chance to lead. This wide receiver group will be one of the finest in the nation by mid-season. Of course, senior Jordan Wilkins will lead a group of running-backs which will be a force to be reckoned with in the rushing game.

The new Rebels defense will be wide open and as exciting to watch as the offense. Marquis Haynes, Breeland Speaks and DeMarquis Gates return and welcome a bevy of young talent to this defense. Though the secondary is young they are also loaded with talent. Also there will be a healthy Ken Webster returning to the line-up. We will see a resurgence of the Landshark D this season.
