Ole Miss football fans know what it’s like to be in turmoil. Turmoil has pretty much been camped out in our shadows for almost five years.

It hasn’t been easy for Ole Miss football fans over the past few months and has proceeded to get even worse as days drag by. Football season can’t get here soon enough. Now, the turmoil has spilled over into feuds between Ole Miss fans. It is crazy to imagine the pressure being put on Ole Miss right now. Everybody, staff, fans and even players.

It’s hard to begin to fathom all that could possibly go wrong really has for Ole Miss football. It makes it even worse for all of us who live and breathe Ole Miss football. In the past weeks we have all been caught in the gauntlet of just trying to get to kickoff. So far so good, or has it been? I have worried about and been worried a menagerie of issues surrounding our team for months on end. Of course, it’s been tough on us all.

It Comes To A Head

Everything always comes to a head. After we’ve had a chance to fester for a month, here we are and some of us are at the wrong throats. Being in the media is particularly bad. We all want answers and we all have our ‘inside’ sources. However, there has been very little juice to trickle out of the grapevine in Oxford.

As I’ve stated before, this whole crazy situation has been handled poorly by Ole Miss officials. There has been no positive reaffirmation to pass along from administration. There has been virtually no public relations when it comes to balancing the negativity of everything which has been said and done to us.

I get it, people want answers. Not only do they want answers, they want to hear something good. However, there has been nothing good to talk about. People want info but they only want it on their terms and when they get what they ask and it doesn’t fit their own fairy tale then you are the bad guy.

No Sugarcoat Here

I’m here to curate the sports news which affects Ole Miss and occasionally hope to get a great story. I’m not here to blow smoke up someone’s butt for a feel good moment. There are enough others out there doing plenty of it. Sure, I want things to be rosie (no pun intended) but the honest truth is, things will probably get far worse before they get any better. I just hope I’m wrong.

So, if you want a feel good moment then go get your hair done or payoff your car loan. Don’t shoot the messenger just because you don’t like the message. When push comes to shove we had better start being part of an Ole Miss family which cares about each other. Because trust me, we’re really all we have when the dust settles. Everybody else could care less what happens to us.

Next: The Solution!

When it comes to Ole Miss, there is only one thing which will make any of this better. Of course it’s season opening kickoff! So, football season please hurry. We Are Ole Miss. Are You Ready?
