John “Kayo” Dottley season rush record unbreakable?

Way back in 1949 Kayo Dottley had the best season a running back has had in Ole Miss history. Rushing for 1,312 yards and leading the SEC in yardage it was a season that led him to be chosen for the All-SEC team.

Now I know what you’re thinking, how can this record be broken when Ole Miss is a pass-happy team? Under Coach Longo, Sam Houston State still averaged nearly 180 yards rushing per game.

Jordan Wilkins did not play last year due to being academically ineligible but was the front-runner going into the season. This season is no different, Jordan is the man. As long as he stays healthy, is fed the ball at a strong rate, Wilkins can catch Kayos stone-age record.
